This 5.7L "Hemi" engine is 345 cubic inches and was used in a variety of Dodge, Chrysler and Jeep applications from 2005-2008. This version features a VIN code (8th digit of your Vehicle Identification Code) of 2 or H, and has Displacement on Demand. The 5.7L Hemi was the predecessor to Dodge's long running small block engine, the 5.9L Magnum engine.
The most common failure of the 5.7L Hemi engine is dropped valve seats. To help alleviate this issue all Factory Direct hemi engines are assembled with new oversized valve seats for more press fit. When installing your new Factory Direct 5.7L hemi it is highly recommended that you replace the intake manifold on top of the engine. If your previous engine catastrophically failed, debris from the old engine can get stuck inside of the plastic intake manifold.
All Factory Direct 5.7L Hemi engines are remanufactured, NOT rebuilt. Remanufactured engines provide the best value when compared to rebuilt engines or used engines. While a used or rebuilt 5.7L Hemi engine may seem attractive due to the low cost, it may end up costing you more than you think. Both used and rebuilt engine options do not include any updates to correct original design flaws like our remanufactured engines do.
